创作背景

《120保卫战》（YFII-120 United We Stand）创作于2020-2021年，记录了中国区块链社群在面对机构封锁时展现出的集体意志与去中心化精神。

2020年7月，YFII（DeFi协议的分叉版本）被两大重要区块链平台——去中心化流动性提供商Balancer和以太坊主流钱包MetaMask——单方面封锁，理由是"与YFI过于相似"。在缺乏正式沟通的情况下，这两个平台的中心化权力对一个去中心化协议进行了封禁。

这一事件成为了"去中心化金融是否真正去中心化"命题的一次现实检验。中国加密社群（尤其是YFII社群）随即发起"120保卫战"——死守YFII的120 USD价格防线，组织成员进行市场反弹。经过从2020年8月4日到18日的激烈抗争，YFII价格成功守住并反弹，价值逐渐被更广泛的市场认可。

CryptoZR是YFII项目的核心发起者之一，将这一事件转化为一件四幕叙事性艺术作品。

创作理念

《120保卫战》是对加密世界"权力去中心化"这一核心承诺的现实检验与艺术记录：

  1. 去中心化的悖论：YFII被封锁事件暴露了一个根本性矛盾：去中心化协议依赖于中心化基础设施（钱包、流动性平台）。当这些"入口"被关闭，去中心化的理想面临真实威胁。作品记录的正是这种张力最激烈的时刻。

  2. 社群作为艺术主体：参与"120保卫战"的加密社群成员成为了这件作品的共同创作者。他们的集体决策、协作抗争、最终胜利，构成了作品四幕叙事的内容。这是一件关于"去中心化社群在压力下如何凝聚"的纪录性艺术。

  3. 价格作为政治行动："死守120"不仅仅是金融行为，更是一种集体政治表态——用市场行动宣告"这个协议有价值，我们不会让它归零"。作品将这种经济行为转化为带有史诗性叙事结构的艺术事件。

Introduction

The Battle for 120 commemorates YFII's rise from the ashes after being blocked by Balancer and MetaMask.

This was a sudden event in the blockchain world in August 2020. After being attacked by competitors, YFII was blocked on 27 July by the centralised blockchain institutions Balancer and MetaMask; the block was lifted on 29 July, but the Chinese blockchain community held the line at a price of 120. The struggle lasted from 4 August to 18 August 2020, and with victory in the Battle for 120 the value of YFII gradually won recognition.

Background

YFII-120 United We Stand was created in 2020–2021 and records the collective will and decentralised spirit shown by the Chinese blockchain community in the face of an institutional blockade.

In July 2020 YFII (a forked version of a DeFi protocol) was unilaterally blocked by two major blockchain platforms — the decentralised liquidity provider Balancer and the mainstream Ethereum wallet MetaMask — on the grounds that it was "too similar to YFI". With no formal communication, the centralised power of these two platforms banned a decentralised protocol.

The episode became a real-world test of the proposition "is decentralised finance truly decentralised?". The Chinese crypto community (and the YFII community in particular) promptly launched the "Battle for 120" — defending the 120 USD price line for YFII and organising members to push the market back. After fierce struggle from 4 to 18 August 2020 the YFII price held and rebounded, and its value gradually won recognition in the wider market.

CryptoZR was one of the core initiators of the YFII project, and turned this episode into a narrative artwork in four acts.

Concept

YFII-120 United We Stand is a real-world test, and an artistic record, of the crypto world's central promise of "decentralised power":

  1. The paradox of decentralisation: the blocking of YFII exposed a fundamental contradiction — decentralised protocols depend on centralised infrastructure (wallets, liquidity platforms). When those "gateways" close, the decentralised ideal faces a real threat. What the work records is precisely the moment when that tension was at its sharpest.

  2. The community as artistic subject: the members of the crypto community who took part in the "Battle for 120" became co-creators of this work. Their collective decisions, their co-ordinated resistance and their eventual victory make up the content of the work's four acts. This is a documentary art about "how a decentralised community coheres under pressure".

  3. Price as political action: "holding the line at 120" was not merely a financial act but a collective political statement — declaring through market action that "this protocol has value and we will not let it go to zero". The work turns that economic behaviour into an artistic event with an epic narrative structure.

The work takes the form of a single-channel video installation with a dramatic four-act narrative structure, recording and re-enacting the history of the YFII community's struggle in August 2020.
